RMES CO2 Extraction Services

The CBD industry has exploded over the last decade — with new CBD brands and product lines being created each day. As these new brands and products are developed, some companies look to gain a competitive edge by cutting corners and extracting CBD using chemical solvents rather than safe alternatives like CO2 extraction.

At Rocky Mountain Extraction Services, we provide wholesale CBD oil to the companies in the CBD industry that wish to develop Certified Organic, THC-free, and solvent-free CBD extracts and distillates. If you are interested in using our natural Rocky Mountain CBD Oil to develop your next CBD brand or product, we urge you to contact us today. We would love to discuss how our Certified Organic CBD extracts and distillates can give your brand and product the competitive edge it needs to stick out in the saturated CBD marketplace.

But why is Rocky Mountain Extraction Services CO2 extracted CBD so much better than other CBD extracts and distillates? Continue reading to learn more.

What Is a CBD Extract & Distillate?

At Rocky Mountain Extraction services, we specialize in manufacturing organically-sourced CBD extracts and distillates. Our extracts and distillates are sourced from organically grown hemp plants and are designed to be natural and robust.

A CBD extract is the CBD and terpenes that have been removed from hemp plant tissue. Once extracted from the plant, the CBD extract is thick, raw, and largely unprocessed. Because of this, our team at Rocky Mountain Extraction Services is able to sell wholesale CBD extract that can be sent to your CBD product development center for further processing so that you can create whatever CBD products that you would like. That said, we can also refine the extract to create a distillate.

CBD distillate is the refined product of CBD extract. At Rocky Mountain Extraction Services, our team can refine and distill our Rocky Mountain CBD Oil to include or exclude any number of compounds or terpenes that you would like to include in your product.

Last, but certainly not least, we are proud to offer finishing and CBD product development services to assist your new CBD brand to develop your first line of products, whether they be extract- or distillate-based. Learn more about our services today.

What Is CO2 Extraction?

At Rocky Mountain Extraction Services, we have a commitment to excellence. Because of this, we use the most efficient and natural product development methods to create our wholesale CBD extracts and distillates. When it comes to CBD extraction, there is no better way to do so than CO2 extraction.

Because the CBD industry is so competitive, it is not uncommon for CBD companies, small or large, to cut corners in order to develop and launch their product lines faster. Unfortunately, one of those shortcuts is to extract CBD with the use of chemical solvents. Chemical solvents are often used to draw out the CBD particles from hemp and cannabis — in turn leaving trace amounts of the chemical in the final product.

At Rocky Mountain Extraction Services, we find the use of chemical solvents inexcusable. Rather than us compromising the quality of our wholesale CBD extracts, our team utilizes our CO2 extraction services to remove the CBD and terpenes from organically-sourced hemp. But how exactly do our CO2 extraction services work?

Step 1

The first step in the Rocky Mountain Extraction Services CO2 extraction process is to harvest the hemp that has been grown for our product. Partnering with local farmers that practice sustainable agriculture, all of our extracts and distillates are created using Certified Organic hemp plants. Once the hemp has been harvested, we bring it to our product development lab. Learn more about our sustainable farming partnerships.

Step 2

Once we have received our organically-sourced hemp, we begin to trim the plants. Because the stalks of the hemp plant have a limited amount of CBD, we remove the flowers from the plant and prepare them for our CO2 extraction services by placing them in a sealed container attached to our lab equipment.

Step 3

The CO2 extraction process truly starts when CO2 is pumped into the container that is holding the hemp flower. Once the CO2 is in the container, the container is pressurized — allowing the CO2 to be present in both gas and liquid forms. This is what is referred to as the “supercritical state.”

Step 4

Once the CO2 has come in contact with the hemp flowers — in both liquid and solid form — the CO2 bonds to the outside of the plant and draws the CBD, terpenes, and other common compounds to the surface. In this part of the CO2 extraction service process, it is important that the temperature is closely monitored as cold CO2 effectively draws out the compounds while warm CO2 could be potentially damaging to the yield.

Step 5

Now that the CBD, terpenes, and other common compounds have been partially extracted, it is time to separate the compounds from the CO2. The most effective way to do so is to spin the hemp flowers and CO2 like a centrifuge. As the plant material and the CO2 spin, they are separated.

Step 6

Last, but certainly not least, the CO2, now in gaseous form, is collected from the container and recycled for future use. The CBD-rich extract is then removed as a thick, viscous liquid. This raw extract is then either mixed with hemp seed oil to make CBD oil or packages as a crude extract for our CBD brand partners to refine themselves.

The Benefits of CO2 Extraction

As a business owner in the CBD industry, you are always looking for ways to distance yourself from your competitors. At Rocky Mountain Extraction Services, we believe that the best way to do so is to bring a high-quality, natural product to market.

The primary benefit associated with CO2 extraction is its status as a “green solvent.” As we mentioned before, there are some businesses that extract their CBD using chemical solvents like butane. Unlike chemical solvents, this green solvent extraction method leaves no chemical residues behind — enhancing the safety and quality of the product.

Supercritical CO2 extraction is unique because:

  • It is non-flammable, non-toxic, and inert
  • You can tweak the solvent strength by adjusting temperature and density
  • There are moderate critical constants
  • CO2 leaves very minimal residue
  • The critical temperature of CO2 is ideal for temperature-sensitive extraction

While there are many benefits to having your CBD products manufactured with CBD extracts that have been produced by supercritical CO2 extraction, the most prominent are the lack of potentially damaging chemical residue, the cost-effectiveness of the extraction process, and the added effects provided by the high-quality extract to the consumer.

Why Choose CO2 Extraction Services?

Efficiency & Profitability

CO2 extraction services are known to be one of the most efficient ways to extract and isolate CBD and various terpenes. The process is quick, efficient, and creates a higher yield than other methods of hemp extraction.

When the extraction process is as low-maintenance and efficient as CO2 extraction, profit margins are greatly increased. And who doesn’t like a larger profit margin while also getting the highest quality extracts and distillates?

Safety & Purity

We currently live during a time that people want to know what they are putting in their bodies — especially when it is a CBD product — and CBD is an industry that consumers are still very much learning about.

CO2 is a “green solvent,” meaning that it leaves behind very little residue. Unlike other chemical-based solvents, the residue left behind by CO2 is completely harmless. CO2 extraction services are one of the safest, most natural ways to create CBD extracts and distillates.

Versatility In Product Development

When it comes to sourcing your wholesale CBD extract, you’re going to want to find an extract or distillate that is versatile and can be used to produce and refine multiple different types of CBD products.

CBD extracts that have been extracted via CO2 extraction services can be “tuned” to pinpoint the desired compounds and components that you wish to have in your products. Essentially, CO2 extraction services optimize CBD extract qualities and open doors for future product development opportunities.
